The state’s only endovascular, fellowship-trained neurosurgeon joins West Virginia OrthoNeuro, further expanding the organization’s team of highly-skilled and compassionate physicians.
Dr. James Harman specializes in the minimally invasive treatment of stroke, brain aneurysms, brain/spine arteriovenous malformations, brain/spine arteriovenous fistulas, trauma to blood vessels of the head and brain, inflammation and spasming of the brain blood vessels, carotid artery disease, tumors of the brain and spine, intractable nose bleeds, functional procedures, and spinal procedures.
Dr. Harman completed his neurosurgery residency at Saint Barnabas Medical Center and Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey. He also received fellowship training in Endovascular Neurosurgery at the North Jersey Brain and Spine Center and Hackensack University Medical Center. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University and his Doctor of Osteopathy from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, West Virginia.

Dr. Harmon comes to Charleston with his wife, four children, and dog. He enjoys outdoor activities including trail running and mountain biking, and he loves music, movies, and spending time with his family.
